Jason Dohring Looks Like a Young Mickey Rourke...Anyone Else Think So?  
Yes I think so :) For the past couple of days, I've been intrigued by the movie, The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke. I think its from the praise its been getting and there was a tidbit of it on the local morning news show. So anywho I was looking at the trailer of it and reading reviews of it all of which just makes me want to see the movie more. And so while watching the trailer, I was wondering "what the hell happened to Mickey Rourke?".

Because I knew back in the day (early 80s)....he was pretty good looking and then I guess when he got into boxing, his face got damaged and got surgery (just assuming....could be he doesn't age well). So I was watching a clip on YouTube of his movie Diner...the infamous "popcorn box scene," and I thought to myself "My God he looks like some actor who's in his 20s now..." I couldn't pinpoint on who it is, like they have the same face, cheekbones, smile, eyes and sound alike (voice-wise). It was KILLING me that I couldn't pinpoint it and then I just realized last night, "HOLY SHIT he looks like Jason Dohring!" (the dude in my avatar..you may know him as Logan from Veronica Mars). So I was Googled "Jason Dohring, Mickey Rourke" and I saw others thought so too! Even in Jason Dohring's IMDB.com message board here (a lot of people there think Jason looks like Dana Carvey, which IMO I do NOT see).

The look like twins for chrissakes! But then old age caught up with Mickey...well not to mention the "surgery" he's had on his face after it probably got smashed during boxing. I just realized today that both Mickey and Jason both co-starred with Steve Guttenberg! Mickey in Diner with Steve (supposedly Steve was the only guy Mickey got along with according to some post on Mickey's IMDB message board). Jason in Veronica Mars with Steve who was the mayor in that show, his character was recurring I think.

OMG now I have an urge to see Rumble Fish after seeing multiple clips of it on YouTube ;P

He has always reminded me of a young Jack Nicholson, actually.

Earlier? Not so much in appearance, but in acting chops. Jack Nicholson was really a pretty fantastic actor before he started resting on the stereotype.

forgot to ask....which one Jason or Mickey who looks like Jack. Well earlier before One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest or was that his big break?

They do look alike, ha. I totally see the Dana Carvey too, but that's mostly his face shape and not at all about his features.

I don't know why they're hailing The Wrestler as a comeback. Mickey's been in movies a lot lately. I could've sworn his return was with Once Upon A Time In Mexico or Sin City-- even Domino.

I don't know....maybe because The Wrestler is like his career? Washed-up actor or whatever...well you know what I mean lol.

I think people forget he was in Sin City because of the prosthetics lol...and it was more of an ensemble cast. You know not focusing on one person. Hell I forget he was in Sin City sometimes! lol

lol, I guess it stays in my mind because Marv was my favorite, so I was excited about that whole storyline.

Oh yeah, I've always thought so. Especilly Mickey in 91/2 weeks.

Yeah after seeing 9 1/2 Weeks clips on YouTube, I think so too...think the picture up there of Mickey is from that movie.

I can sort of see Jason and Mickey but not as much and Jason is much cuter to me. Funny I see Dana Carvey and Jason more, but then I love Dana and think Jason and Dana have that adorable factor in the face, smile, and the sparkle in the eyes :D.

When JD was at Comic Con for Moonlight, I told a friend of mine the same thing when I saw this picture. I wish I could remember who took it. I think the resemblance is almost eerie but that's just me.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you...the resemblance is too eerie and just something I would never suspect in a 100 years until I saw the pictures and comparing them.

Heh just realized they also share another co-star...Evan Rachel Wood. Mickey in The Wrestler with her and according to Jason's IMDB.com listing he was in Once and Again a show she was on.
